2015 Adult Swim Singles Program Week 12: Skrillex and Jauz feat. Fatman Scoop – “Squad Out!”

Week 12 - Skrillex - Squad Up!

Hey, everyone. RobBarracuda here, and it’s Monday, which means it’s time for a new free song courtesy of the Adult Swim Singles Program!

This week’s entry into the 2015 Adult Swim Singles Program comes to us from Skrillex, one of the most well-known EDM (electronic dance music) producers of the past several years, often credited with helping bring the aggressive and chaotic dubstep genre to a mainstream audience. The song given to us here is called “Squad Out!” (does Skrillex know we exist?), a collaboration with fellow producer Jauz and the well-known voice of radio host/promoter Fatman Scoop (Adult Swim fans might recognize him from a couple of guest spots on The Boondocks). The song is very much what you expect if you know a single, featuring his signature high-energy dubstep style in addition to the trap influences he’s adopted for some of his more recent output. Laser sounds, high-pitched and occasionally glitchy synths, and pounding drum beats come together to craft a beat that’s guaranteed to have you going hard as a mofo, and Fatman Scoop’s distinctive and intense voice is guaranteed to get you pumped even further. When he screams “LET THE FUCKING BASS DROP!” prepare to get hyped. When he tells you to stand near the subwoofer, that is a command that you will absolutely obey even if you don’t have a subwoofer near you. This is just an absolute banger of a song, and you need to hear it right now. You can stream the song right here, and of course you can download it for free here. That’s all for this week, and I’ll see you next week with the next single release!
