Following getting captured by Esdeath, Tatsumi is dragged along with the Jaegers to raid a bandit’s fortress. Esdeath makes Tatsumi watch all of this go down, and we see the Jaeger’s special powers, with Sereyu’s in particular being… having Coro bite her arm and have it turn into a drill. Did I mention that this show can be stupidly awesome at points? And she does all that while making the scariest freaking face in this show thus far.
After finishing the raid, the Jaegers head back to their base, and the first thing Esdeath does is, of course, try to seduce Tatsumi in her room. He tries to resist the temptation and attempts to get Esdeath to turn against the empire, but that doesn’t work out. Esdeath then explains to Tatsumi that she believes in “survival of the fittest” and that she will be the one to be changing Tatsumi. They go back and forth about this for a little while, but they decide to cease the conversation for tonight and just go to bed, with neither side winning the argument. The next day, Tatsumi meets up with Wave and Kurome, and he shortly finds out that Kurome is Akame’s sister and that she wants to kill her for betraying the capital. Later, Esdeath, Kurome, Wave, and Tatsumi go on a manhunt at Mount Fake, with Tatsumi being paired with Wave. We find out that they both fight with similar imperial arms, and they shortly get attacked by trees from behind (don’t question it, it’s anime), which they are able to easilly defeat without their imperial arms. Afterwards, Wave tries to attack Tatsumi and defeats them, with Tatsumi escaping shortly after. He then encounters the Night Raid members who were sent out to save him, and they escape from the Jaegers for now. For letting Tatsumi escape, Esdeath punishes Wave, and Tatsumi tells the Night Raid members all about the Jaegers. The episode ends with Dr. Stylish (aka, inferior gay guy to Bulat) and his men locating the Night Raid base and getting ready to attack.
I thought this was an okay episode of Akame ga Kill. The action was pretty fun as always and I found Esdeath’s weird lust for Tatsumi to be pretty entertaining. Aside from that, nothing really stood out in this episode for me. I wish I had more to say about the episode, but I really don’t have that much commentary to offer on this episode. I still think that the fact that the Jaegers are basically Nega Night Raid isn’t that great of an idea, particularly since I don’t really care for any of the members aside from Esdeath. Overall, I found this episode to be pretty average. Not that it’s bad or anything, but nothing really stood out to me. I really hope things start to pick back up in the next episode. I give this episode 5 horny Esdeaths out of 10
