Food: Robot Chicken, 08×18 & Losin’ It: Mike Tyson Mysteries, 02×13 Recap

I hate my DVR…

Hey guys, its your girl KrisSimsters and yesterday was a weird day for me. For those who don’t know, Virginia’s going through some rainstorms right now and yesterday morning, my power went out and came back on quickly. I thought there would be no lasting effect, everything came back on fine…even my cable, but of course it would have some DVR trouble later down the line because Robot Chicken and Mike Tyson Mysteries didn’t record and they were really good episodes!! But don’t worry, I have backups in the Adult Swim website. I don’t know how long they’ll be available for free, so if you haven’t gotten the chance to watch them yet, then hurry and watch them. For everybody else, lets get this recap started shall we? And remember, Robot Chicken and Mike Tyson Mysteries comes on Sundays at 11:30 and 11:45 P.M.

Robot Chicken: Food Recap:

It might have taken a couple of episodes, but Robot Chicken finally got a good episode in. A lot of skits were good and opening with the Breaking Bad parody was a good move. My favorite skits of the night was Breaking BreakfastAmerican Swiper, and Dockside Murder. My least favorite skit of the night would definitely have to be Takagi’s Suit (I really didn’t find it that funny) and Chupacabra’s Rap because while it was good, they used the gun joke twice and I really didn’t find it funny the second time.

Mike Tyson Mysteries: Losin’ It Plot:

As always with Mike Tyson Mysteries, there’s a plot twist within every episode and this one was no exception. The episode starts out with Mike and the gang celebrating the weight loss of a guy name Miles. Because of style of the reveal, I would have to say this is parodying Extreme Makeover the ABC version of The Biggest Loser and I gotta be honest, in the end all weight-loss shows are the same. Moving on. Mike has paid people to pretend to see Miles’ friends so they can see Miles’ weight-loss journey.

Miles’ journey starts six months before with Deezy filming them as they meet Miles and his Mom and what I like is there’s a small bit of continuity from the last episode. Mike hasn’t forgiven Deezy for his betrayal in the last episode when he chose Snoop Dogg over Mike and shows it when Pigeon asks Mike of Deezy’s on the team. The way Mike says no says it all. Even though Miles wants to lose weight, his mother does not. She’s a crazy woman who wants Miles to stay fat and live with her forever. There’s a lot wrong with this, but I’m not going to get into it yet.

After a failed trip in trying to get Miles a gym membership, Mike and the gang decides to train Miles at home. Marquess does more bitching while Yung tries to decide if she should have sex with Miles in order to motivate him. Yung says she still has her virginity and this total destroys my theory about Yung having sex with Pigeon in the mid-season finale back in December. But it almost means that she just watched Pigeon have sex with his ex-wife before she turned herself into a pigeon and killing herself. Pigeon gives his story about his dad taking him to a whorehouse when he was thirteen and Yung is just about to do it when…Miles throws up after his first workout.

Upset, Mike and the team leaves and that ends the video. As their leaving, Marquess tells Miles that he might want to, “free himself from his mother,” those words will definitely come back to haunt him. After the video has ended, Mike says that he put hidden cameras around the house to see if Miles cheated on his diet and yeah, this turns into the best episode of the season. We see Miles cheat a couple of times with pie and whipped cream and then we see another clip with Miles fixing bacon when his mother comes in and moves the juicer. Next thing, Miles kills her, chops up her body, and juices her. Everybody in the audience and his mystery team is in pure shock and the episode ends with Pigeon telling Yung that she should have had sex with him.

The after-credit scene features the Real Mike Tyson sipping juice from a juicer.

Final Thoughts:

These episodes were good and I would say if you have a weak stomach, than avoid that particular episode of Mike Tyson Mysteries. It might not have drawn a line for me, but I know how some people are. I have nothing bad to say about either show and I think next week’s involve their suits, so I guess we’ll have to wait until next Monday to find out about the next review. Until then, my name is KrisSimsters and Stay Golden.
