Adult Swim at San Diego Comic Con 2016: Events & Details

The Comic Con International is coming up, and it’s gonna be filled with both professional and uncanny costumes, pretty famous faces and unknown names, and an overwhelming amount of loud advertising, faceless sponsorships and materialism trying to engage people. And once again. the Adult Swim team is planning to not just be part of that issue, but to become the highlight of it.

Adult Swim Presents released yesterday an extensive catalogue of details and events that they’re organizing for San Diego Comic Con this year, covering the convention center, the green surroundings, and the internet transmissions in a few weekends. So if you’re a bug fan planning to go there between the 21-24 of July, here’s all you need to know:

Since it was such a fun thing last year, this time is the Return To Feline Fun Hole Slide Mouth, Part 2 on Booth #3721. Show your dexterity and aiming to the square-shaped glowing kitty, and you could get some secret prizes and swag out of its tongue if you’re worth the chance.

Now, Panels and Signings.
The Adult Swim Panel Block will be on Friday, July 22nd from 12:15-4:00pm, in the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, Indigo Ballroom. You know the usual, show creators and actors showing exclusive sneak peeks of their upcoming episodes, telling juicy behind-the-scenes anecdotes and succumbing to Q&As. Starting with the Robot Chicken panel at 12:15pm (Matthew Seinreich, Tom Root, Doug Goldstein, Breckin Meyer, Tom Sheppard, Donald Faison. Moderated by Keith Crofford.) Then the new show Brad Neely’s Harg Nallin’ Schlopio Peepio gets a panel at 1:15pm (Brad Neely, Daniel Weidenfeld, Dave Newberg.) After that, the Rick and Morty panel at 2:15pm (Dan Harmon, Justin Roiland, Ryan Ridley, Spencer Grammer, Sarah Chalke, Chris Parnell. Moderated by Brian Q. Quinn.) And lastly, the anticipated Samurai Jack panel at 3:15pm (Genndy Tartakovsky, Darrick Bachman, Scott Willis, Bryan Andrews, Craig Kellman. Moderated by Tom Kenny.) If you can’t go to Comic Con, expect to have these panels archived on a few weeks later.
You can get Adult Swim Signings from the creators and crew of these four shows at the Adult Swim Booth #3721 on Saturday, July 23rd between 12:00pm-5:30pm. A limited number of tickets will be given out at the booth on the day-of. First come, first served.

Adult Swim 2This year is also the return of the popular, sunny and inflatable Adult Swim on the Green, located at Convention Way & 5th Ave Pier, behind the convention center. It’s a big reserved area for such things as the Carnival Midway, with a variety of games, stands, lines and lots of prizes to gain out of. It’s also the three-year-in-a-row return of the Meatwad Full Dome, now bringing you a brand new experience titled “Six Minutes Of Your Life That You’ll Never Get Back.” a new set of misterious 360 degrees mindblowing goodies. (by the way, you can watch part of last year’s 360° dome for VR, available on Google Cardboard, if you can get it on your phone.) There’s also a Mr. Pickles photo booth, a sponsored zone from StateFarm and more. The Adult Swim on the Green will be open Thursday July 21st through Sunday the 24th from 11:00 am–6:00 pm. The whole experience is free, 18+ restricted and RSVP required, not Comic-Con badge needed!

SDCC 2015 Adult Swim ScreeningsAfter the workday is over at Comic Con, is when the special events start. On Nightime at the Green, you can enjoy unreleased material and the company of your behind-the-scenes idols under the stars, inside the Adult Swim at the Green area from 8:00-10:00pm. On Thursday July 21st, it’s a live audience edition of Toonami Pre-Flight, including lots of behind the scenes info from the anime block, repeated questions and recommendation picks from Jason DeMarco, Gill Austin, Steve Blum & Dana Swanson. On Friday July 22nd, Adult Swim Presents: Things You’ve Never Seen invites you to a special night of exclusive specials, unreleased pilots and premieres never shown on TV. And on Saturday July 23rd, join an improvised evening with Rick and Morty creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, where they will come up with anything. First come, first served.

Can’t you go to Comic Con but you are still reading this figuring out your life? The Adult Swim Live Streams will be there, which… is kinda like that. The Digital team will be setting up their remote cameras and phone lines on San Diego, reporting live from the happenings on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. There will be contests, musical guests, iron cooking, celebrities and mundane people all day long.
