During the April 1st episode of Toonami Pre-Flight, it was revealed (in a completely non-joking manner) that the 2011 adaptation of the manga Hunter x Hunter would be premiering on the block following the end of Parasyte -the maxim’s- run, which is moving down to the 3:00 AM rerun slot. HxH is set to premiere on April 16th in the 1:00 AM time slot. The anime follows a boy named Gon, who learns that his supposedly “deceased” father is actually alive and well, working as a top-class Hunter: essentially a jack of all trades who tracks down rare animal species, treasures, and even criminals. Upon this revelation, Gon makes every attempt he can to become a Hunter as well and hopefully find his father in the process. This is the second adaptation of the manga to be done, following a prior version which ran from 1999 to 2001, with this one running from 2011 to 2014 and spanning 148 episodes.
